My Mentorship- Abstract: This year my mentorship was at Specialty Clinics of Georgia- Orthopedics. I often spent my days there shadowing different doctors, taking blood pressures, observing minor procedures done in the office, and moving patients to and from x-ray, waiting rooms, cast rooms, etc. The purpose of my project is to research and analyze the new technologies and strategies that are currently being used in and developed for the field of orthopedic medicine. This includes many aspects of orthopedics such as tools used for surgery, surgery techniques, and rehabilitative strategies. I chose this topic for my project because it gave me a chance to look into developments that could very well affect my future directly, assuming I continue on the path toward this career. I am very thankful for this mentorship and opportunity because I believe that it has made a strong impact on my decision to pursue my passion of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
